Directional Signs – to your venue and also within your venue, i.e. to the toilets
A Gift Table – save your carefully wrapped gifts from destruction by allocating a specific table for safe storage instead of dumping them under the buffet table.
A Message Book – no matter what the occasion; kids birthday, a corporate event or your wedding day, a message book containing notes from your friends will be a lovely momento of your party and may even give you some ideas for your next event!
What happens if it rains? If your event includes alfresco dining or entertainments for outside, do you have a back up plan? Ensure that you have some suitable alternatives.
Smokers – many venues operate a non-smoking policy, and with new anti-smoking laws being brought in, you must ensure that you adhere to all venue policies and abide by the law. If the establishment is anti-smoking, consider erecting a waterproof canopy and a patio heater outside, enabling your guests to keep warm, dry and legal!
Parking – do you have enough? If parking is limited you could ask your guests to share lifts or hire a mini bus. Alternatively, speak sweetly to neighbouring property owners and ask for their advice & assistance in arranging adequate parking for your guests.
Furniture – if you are having a dance floor, ensure that the furniture is moved away to enable your guests to dance. Also arrange seating for a ‘quiet area’ for those who wish to chat and relax in comfort.
Accidents & Spillages – they will happen, it is unavoidable. To minimise potential damage, keep some kitchen roll and detergent on hand, just in case!
